A Bearsden mum says she is mistaken for wearing false eyelashes after using a serum she created.

Lauren Roxburgh used the best of previous formulas she had tried to create Lashes2Grow and is delighted to officially launch the product.

She said: “I have used a few different lash serums and they worked really well for me. I wanted to take my favourite parts of the ones I’d tried and create the best formula for growing lashes.

"People often ask me what false lashes I'm wearing but it is the serum that causes them to grow long and full and unlike false lashes or extensions, there is no damage.

"I started using myself and family and friends as guinea pigs until I got the formula just right.

"The appeal of a job that fits around childcare was also very appealing.”

The 40-year-old, who is also a beautician and owner of Bearsden Brows, balances her work with looking after her five-year-old twins, who were born prematurely.

When Lucy and Glen were born at just 28 weeks gestation they both weighed 2lbs, which is smaller than a standard-sized bag of sugar.

After three months in hospital, they both had to use oxygen for breathing until their first birthday.

Glasgow Times:

But while the twins are now thriving and settling into primary school, they are still prone to illness and so Lauren is glad she can work around them.

Lauren said: “Because the kids were premature, they have really weak immune systems and catch every cold and bug going.

"Since they started school they have been off a fair bit and it means I’m letting my clients down and cancelling their appointments because I need to collect the kids."

Glasgow Times:

Despite juggling a lot on her plate, Lauren is proud of what she has created and is enjoying the process of getting it out there to the world

She said: “It wasn’t easy, and creating the formula, sourcing manufacturers, designing packaging and starting a website has all been brand new to me.

"There’s been a lot of Googling and just learning as I go but I’m proud of the product and want as many people as possible to try it.”

Lashes2Grow is priced at £29.99 and available at Lashes2Grow.co.uk
