The Apprentice's Glasgow candidate has opened up on his experience after he was made to quit the show.

Theatre entrepreneur Reece Donnelly left the competition after the candidates travelled to Dubai in week six.

He cited health issues as the reason, but some publications speculated it was due to issues with alcohol consumption.

Now, days after Marnie Swindells has been crowned the winner, Reece has opened up about his experience on the BBC series.

Posting on Instagram, he wrote: "Just like that, it’s a wrap. One year from my first meeting with the producers, nine weeks filming, six months of keeping a secret and 18 new mates later we are done.

"It’s a bittersweet ending, I feel like I’ve genuinely lived every emotion in the past 12 weeks. The highs, the lows, the bull sh*t but, you know what I am so proud of myself and my business.

"I’ve just turned 26, the proud owner of three successful companies and I for one am so grateful for my Apprentice journey.

"It's made me realise how strong you need to be in life and I’m still here, building my empire!

"The first Scot in 8 years and I showcased my skills, my business and my patter each week. I’m excited for the next chapter."

Some of Reece's fellow contestants responded, including runner-up Rochelle Anthony who said: "Sooo amazing!! You’ve literally smashed it!! Well done."

Avi Sharma added: "Well done bro. This is just the beginning."
