A popular hostel in Glasgow city centre is now up for sale.

The Euro Hostel, located by the River Clyde, has gone on the market.

Commercial real estate company CBRE has listed the building, described as a "rare opportunity" with major transport links and quality food and drink venues nearby.

The development could be acquired as an established hostel business or could be repurposed as a hotel, services apartments, student accommodation or for residential usage.

The company is inviting offers for heritable interest.

The Clyde Street unit has 137 rooms over 10 floors and was converted to its current use in 2000.

A spokesperson from Euro Hostel said: "The current owner of Euro Hostel Glasgow has decided to put the business up for sale due to personal reasons.

"The hostel market in Glasgow continues to be incredibly strong yet underserved -  the business is currently trading nearly 15% better than its previous best year.

"The business is supported by a very strong management team and given the location on the Clyde and the international pull of Glasgow city, CBRE, the agents, expect to see significant demand from both domestic and international hostel brands to take on this unique site. "
