A city sandwich shop has teamed up with Walkers as they release their own sandwich for customers.

Enzo’s Sandwich Shop and Cafe, on Renfield Street, has collaborated with Walkers Crisps as part of their campaign called #CrispIN or #CrispOUT.

The Glasgow cafe was tasked with coming up with their own item with crisps to sell, with Enzo’s creating a Chicken Tikka Wotsits sandwich, which will be sold for a week only.

Filled with cheesy Wotsits and mixed in with chicken tikka, the 'Enzo’s Sandwich' is a nod to the city’s creation of the much-loved curry.

Starting Monday, June 12 until Friday, June 16 the cafe is selling a range of Walkers-styled sandwiches for people to try.

Speaking about the collaboration, owner Eleanor Torrance said: “We are the only place in Scotland that is doing this promotion.

“Along with this sandwich, we are also doing the other six other sandwiches which have been created by other sandwich shops.

“When coming up with the idea we tried a few different avenues but we thought that the cheesiness of the Wotsits made a difference to the sandwich.

“The whole promotion this week is whether you should have crisps in your sandwich or on the side.”

The owner also went on to say how hard everyone has been working to ensure that they are ready for the upcoming week.

She added: We have had to do a lot of prep this morning to make sandwiches that are not normally on our menu.

“So they have been working hard to get everything prepared to make sure that when you come in asking for a sandwich, they are quite quick to make it for you.”

Other sandwiches such as The Kickin’ Chicken, a chicken, chorizo and salami filled bap with sweet chilli sauce, salad and a scattering of classic Walkers Prawn Cocktail-flavour crisps or the Cheesy Reuben, a crispy twist on the deli classic, packed with Walkers cheese and onion crisps are another combination that have been created.

According to the snack brand’s research, 98 per cent of UK adults believe that crisps make sandwiches better, but just over a third prefer them on the side.

With this hotly contested topic continuing to divide the nation, Walkers is encouraging people to visit the sandwich shops to re-assess whether they’re #CrispIN or #CrispOUT.
