An investigation has been launched following an incident in Royal Exchange Square on Wednesday afternoon.

A man was observed being treated by police officers after he was found injured following an incident.

Cops were called to reports of a 'disturbance' around 3.20pm outside of the Gallery of Modern Art.

When they arrived at the scene they found an injured man. His age and condition are unknown at this time.

An investigation has been launched into the incident to establish what happened.

A Police Spokesperson said: "Around 3.20pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, police received a report of a disturbance in Royal Exchange Square.

"Officers attended and a man was found injured. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
