A popular shop is closing after 25 years amid rising bills.

The team at Purple Edge Graphics has made the decision to close due to an 'increase in bills and the decline of retail'.

Located at Bearsden Cross, the store specialises in stationery, gifts, cards and print services.

A spokesperson said: "It's with great sadness that after 25 years at Bearsden Cross we have decided to close the shop.

"Due to the increase of bills and the decline of retail trade, we had to make the difficult choice not to renew the lease.

"We would like to thank all our customers, especially the ones who have become friends for your continued support over the last 25 years, we will miss you.

"We will still be offering a printing service and you can email any requests to purpleedge2023@gmail.com."

Messages of support have poured in from the community following the announcement, with one person writing: "Sad to see this, lovely wee shop and great customer service."

Another said: "Sorry to hear that, great to hear that you are still doing printing."

A third added: "Sorry to hear this, lots of good memories but you will move on and do better things. Twenty-five years is a good stint."
