Glasgow’s UCI Cycling World Championships will collaborate with SURGE Festival during the summer to bring street theatre to the city.
The event will happen from August 11 to 13 with its headline act Beautiful Bones which they have described as a celebration of death.
All acts will perform throughout the day, before and after the cycling all around the city at George Square, Cathedral Street, Argyle Street and Kelvingrove.
Beautiful Bones is a large-scale street performance as well as a comedy and musical with 50 brass band players that will happen in George Square.
This year’s edition of the festival will see a combination of all four nations, as well as a mix of international performers.
As part of SURGE Festival’s bursary programme, they have developed new acts from all around the UK.
Some of the shows that will take place include Dogs of Doom, Brass Spectacular, Apocalypse Right Now and the immersive, female cabaret performance, Shrill.
Glasgow residents can expect to see many things such as cowboy chickens, giant seagulls, partying bees and giant slinkies throughout the streets for its duration.
