Matty Healy declared The 1975 “f*****g” love Glasgow.

The band were headliners on Sunday night at the Glasgow Green festival marking the end of a phenomenal weekend of music.

The kooky frontman was wheeled on stage in a bin before he appeared in his doctor overcoat and specs to wild screams.

He then kicked off the set with Looking for Somebody (to Love) with his bandmates guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald and drummer George Daniel in tow providing a masterclass in musicianship.

Happiness, Love Me and Oh Caroline followed quickly setting the bar high for the performance.

He then said: “We f****g love glasgow. Who’s seen us perform, who’s seen us at TRNSMT before?

“We are the 1975 from Manchester in England.”

He added: “This is where we played our first proper show. We played King Tut’s, we love it here.”

And with that, they delved into some of their biggest songs including If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know), It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You) and Somebody Else.

Taking a moment, Healy then mentioned Scotland’s very own superstar singer Lewis Capaldi explaining that they met backstage.

He told the crowd: “Our good friend Mr Capaldi is with us, taking a well-deserved break.”

A performance of the haunting About You sounded spectacular in a live setting while Robbers showed off Healy’s vocals beautifully.

The perfect headliners, 1975 entertained throughout their set.

Healy was chatty, nostalgic and of course having a fag or two.

He’s incredibly charismatic and you can’t take your eyes off him as you await his next move.

Revealing he had written another show, he promised a date in Glasgow and that the crowd would only see The 1975 at their very best.
