Firefighters are on the scene of a blaze in Bearsden.

999 crews were called to the Bearsden Snowsports Club on Stockiemuir Road, just after 7pm tonight.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that three firetrucks were sent to the flames, which has been extinguished.

One vehicle is still at the scene.

The club said on their Facebook page: "Due to a small fire, the club will be closed until further notice, please accept our apologies for the late notice.

"Please do not turn up for Ski School or any Race Camps - we will update you as soon as we can.

"Thank you for your understanding."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.07pm on Wednesday, July 19 to reports of a bin on fire which had spread to a building at Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a two-storey building.

“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
