A prisoner has died in Glasgow's Barlinnie.
The Scottish Prison Service has announced today that 29-year-old Sean McGahey, a prisoner at HMP Barlinnie has died on Saturday, July 22.
He was remanded at Glasgow Sheriff Court in 2023.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and a Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course.
The full notice read: "Sean McGahey, 29, a prisoner at HMP Barlinnie has died on 22 July 2023. He was remanded at Glasgow Sheriff Court in 2023.
"Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course."
