South Lanarkshire parents are being asked to share their views on the next school holiday dates.

The council is consulting on the proposed 2024/25 school holiday dates.

A survey has been made for locals to check the dates and make any comments, it closes on September 4.

Parents are asked to note that children are required to attend school for 190 days, so this sets out how the holiday dates are planned.

And the council tries to ensure dates are as close to neighbouring authorities such as North Lanarkshire, Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and East Ayrshire.

The proposed dates for the first term of the school session 2024 to 2025 are as follows: pupils return on August 14, September weekend from September 27 until 1, October break from October 14 until 21 and Christmas Break from December 23 until January 6 2025.

The second term is as follows: pupils return on January 6, 2025, February break from February 17 until 20, and Spring Break and Easter from April 7 until 22.

The third term is as follows: Local holiday on May 5 and from May 23rd until 27 and Summer break will begin on June 26.

The proposed in-service days are August 18 and 19, 2025.

Locals have the opportunity to share their thoughts on the proposed dates, the survey can be accessed here.
