Community organisations throughout South Lanarkshire can apply for funding of up to £10,000.

Local community groups can apply to the council for grants of up to £10,000 to assist with revenue, capital funding or a combination of both thanks to The Can Do Community Challenge Fund which has been launched.

The fund aims to help local communities shine and demonstrate their ‘Can Do’ attitude.

It has been made possible through a total of £200,000 funding from the UK Government and aims to address specific community needs identified through consultation with local communities.

To apply, local groups can access the online portal for the funds where registration can be completed.

More information and guidance is on the Can Do Community Challenge Fund website where the online portal can also be accessed.

All applications that meet the criteria will progress to the next stage where they will be reviewed and decisions will then be made at the appropriate council area committee with the successful applicants being notified after.

The closing date for the application is January 31 and those with enquiries can contact South Lanarkshire Council’s Community Engagement Team at communities@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or call 0303 123 1017.

The fund is not available for priority urban neighbourhoods as they have access to the council’s own participatory budgeting funds.
