The family of a man who was struck by a car in Glasgow City Centre have been left "truly devastated" in the wake of his death.
Police have now named the victim of the crash as Christopher Hanton from the Chryston area.
The 40-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the incident at 10.50pm on Saturday, August 5 on George Street, where he has since died.
His family have now issued a statement following the tragic news.
They said: "Chris was a devoted and dedicated husband to Lynne and a loving father to Zak with many friends and family.
"We are all truly devastated."
A 48-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 7.
Detective Inspector Sarah-Jane Finnigan said: "At this time, our thoughts are with Christopher’s family and friends.
"We would like to request that their privacy is respected, as they come to terms with their tragic loss."
