Cops are looking for witnesses after four teens and two pensioners were rushed to hospital following a crash.

A 999 response was called to the A725 Kingsway near Birniehill roundabout in East Kilbride at around 10.30pm on Wednesday after three cars were involved in a collision with a bus.

A white Mercedes C200, a Peugeot 207 and a Toyota Celica collided with a First bus.

The driver of the Mercedes, an 18-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Three of his passengers, two 16-year-old girls and a 17-year-old girl were also seriously hurt and taken to hospital.

Another passenger of the car, a 17-year-old boy, was not injured.

Both the Peugeot's driver, a 72-year-old man, and the passenger, a 69-year-old woman, were also taken to hospital and released after being treated. 

The 52-year-old male driver and 12-year-old male passenger of the Toyota were not hurt.

No one on the bus was injured.

Cops closed the road for around 14 hours to investigate what happened, and they are now urging anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward. 

Road Policing Sergeant Stewart Taylor said: “We know this is a busy stretch of road and there will have been other drivers in the area around the time of the crash.

"I’m appealing to anyone who saw what happened, saw the vehicles prior to the crash or has dash cam footage from the A725 around 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday), to come forward.”
