A Glasgow casino has applied for permission to be open all day.

Admiral Slots, located at 335 Sauchiehall Street, is currently operating between 9am and midnight all week and 11am to midnight on Sundays.

This is due to a restriction from the council's planning bosses to "protect local residents from exposure to noise and disturbance at unsocial hours".

Now, Luxury Leisure, the owner of the venue, is bidding to be able to open 0-24.

In the documents submitted, the applicant requested "the opportunity to discuss this further with officers prior to a determination being made".

The papers also read: "Since its opening, the adult gaming centre (AGC) has not given rise to adverse impact on amenity, nor has the applicant’s other AGC within the city centre, 34 Queen Street, which operates 24/7.

"It is evident that it has been accepted consistently elsewhere in the UK that AGCs do not generate adverse impacts to amenity through 24/7 trading.

"This, combined with a range of best-practice measures to mitigate any risk of anti-social behaviour or negative social outcomes as outlined in the original submission, is considered sufficient to ensure that no nuisance or disturbance will be caused to adjoining occupiers and therefore justify the extension of the opening hours to 24/7 trading."

The application is currently being considered and a decision is expected to be made by Friday, October 6.

The last day for comments is Monday, September 18.
