Cops are continuing to investigate an 'unexplained' death a week after the discovery of a body.
Emergency crews raced to Alexander Path in the Motherwell area in the early hours of last Sunday morning.
A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a separate matter, the force has revealed that they arrested two men in connection with an assault.
The pair, aged 57 and 40, were released pending further enquiries.
Investigations are continuing to determine the circumstances of the man's death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 1.05am on Sunday, August 20, to a report of a concern for person in the Alexander Path area of Motherwell.
“Emergency services attended, and a 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Two men aged 57 and 40 have been arrested in connection with assault and have been released pending further enquiries.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
