A man has been arrested and charged after an alleged sex crime in Hamilton.
The incident occurred around 7pm on Tuesday, August 29 near Palace Grounds Road.
The 57-year-old is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Thursday, August 29, 2023.
Meanwhile, a separate sex attack was carried out near Palace Grounds Road on Monday, August 28 around 5.30pm which the force is not treating as linked.
An investigation is ongoing into a report of a woman being sexually assaulted by a different man, described as black, aged 20s to 30s, around 5ft 5, wearing a brown or mustard coat and a backpack.
He was last seen heading in the direction of the path towards Strathclyde Park.
Sergeant Billy Sloan of Hamilton Police Office said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the man from the incident on Monday, August 28.
“I would urge anyone who recognises his description or who has any information to contact police.”
