A GANG of youths allegedly attacked a man with baseball bats in Cambuslang at the weekend.
It comes after officers say a 35-year-old man was at a grassy area near Amran Tandoori on Hamilton Road when a group of youngsters jumped over a fence and seriously assaulted him.
The incident took place around 9.30pm on Sunday, September 3.
The attack continued from the grassy area towards Clyde Place, before the culprits took off along Hamilton Road.
The victim was then taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment for a facial injury.
It is understood there were three to four male youths aged between 13 to 16 years old involved in the incident.
They are described as wearing dark clothing which covered some of their faces.
Detective Constable Lynn Livesey from Cambuslang CID said:“This assault seems to have been completely unprovoked and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward.
“In particular, I am looking to speak to anyone who saw this group of youths in the area, or anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could assist with our enquiries.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Cambuslang CID via 101, quoting incident number 3960 of Sunday, 3 September, 2023. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
