A driver was pulled over today after speeding in a 70mph zone.
The incident occurred in Motherwell this morning, after police detected a vehicle travelling at 101mph in a 70mph zone.
The exact location in Motherwell is currently unknown.
Road Policing Scotland documented the incident on Twitter today, where they stated that the driver had only just passed their test a year ago.
They also confirmed that the driver of the vehicle will soon be reported to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
They wrote: "#MotherwellRP were out early this morning when they detected this vehicle travelling at 101mph in a 70mph limit!
"Despite the driver having only passed their test a year ago, they failed to stick to the speed limit.
"The driver will be reported to @COPFS in due course. #Speedkills"
