An investigation has been launched following an alleged incident at a Lanarkshire school.
Last week, a member of staff at a high school in Wishaw was allegedly assaulted on Tuesday, September 5.
It is unknown who was responsible for the assault.
The force has since confirmed that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Tuesday, September 5, we received a report of an assault on a member of staff at a school in Wishaw and our enquiries are ongoing."
North Lanarkshire Council has stated that they are taking the incident 'extremely seriously'.
A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that an incident took place at a school in Wishaw on Tuesday, September 5.
"We take such incidents extremely seriously and the school took immediate and appropriate action.
"We are helping Police Scotland with their enquiries."
