A TEENAGE Hibs fan who threw an item at Celtic fans has been ordered to be of good behaviour.

The then 16-year-old committed the crime at Celtic Park on October 15, 2022.

The Hoops were hosting the Edinburgh side that day in a match Ange Postecoglou's side went on to win 6-1.

Court papers state that the now 17-year-old culpably and recklessly "threw an item into a spectator area."

The charge says this exposed the fans to risk of injury.

The boy appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He had an "1875" and harp logo tattoo on his arm which relates to the formation date of Hibernian Football Club.

The boy pleaded guilty to the culpable and reckless charge.

He also admitted a separate allegation of possessing a document which resembled a driving licence.

Prosecutor Josh Dowie told the sentencing that the boy was in the away section of the stadium.

He said: “Police were directed by CCTV operators that there was a person throwing items at the home fans.

“The operator identified the boy and police approached him.

“They took him to a quiet place in the stadium to speak to him where he was cautioned and charged.

“He told officers ‘It was a 20p’.”

Sheriff Patricia Pryce put the boy on a good behaviour order until March next year and deferred a decision on a football banning order until then.
