UPDATE HERE. 

A double-decker bus has collided with two parked cars in Glasgow.

The First Bus service was involved in the incident on Arrochar Street in the city's Summerston on Monday evening.

Images shared on social media show the bus windscreen smashed and a car lying on its side. 

Emergency crews taped off the area while they carried out investigations. 

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed that there were no reported injuries and that they have since left the scene. 

A spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.02pm on Monday, September 18 to reports of a car on its side in Arrochar Street, Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene and on arrival, firefighters found that it was a road traffic collision involving two private parked cars and a commercial bus.

“There were no casualties involved and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9pm on Monday, 18 September, 2023, we were called to a report of a bus crashing into two parked cars on Arrochar Street, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended.

"One man, the driver of the bus, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"He was charged in connection with a road traffic offence and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

A spokesperson for First Bus said: “We can confirm an incident took place involving one of our vehicles on Arrochar Street in Summerston shortly after 9pm on Monday night.

“The emergency services were called and all passengers got off the bus safely. The safety of our customers, alongside that of our colleagues, remains our number one priority.

“An investigation into the incident is already underway and we would like to apologise to our customers for any disruption to the service that followed.”
