A vacant listed building in the city centre has been transformed into a new boutique hotel set to open in January.

Taking over the premises which used to house the Mamafubu restaurant, House of Gods has teased photos of rooms ahead of reservations opening on October 19.

Occupying the corner of Glassford Street and Wilson Street, the property has undergone a major renovation over the last three years and will offer six more rooms than its Edinburgh counterpart.

The extravagant hotel is kitted out with hand-painted 24 karat-gold embellished de Gournay wallpaper in the lobby bar and a rooftop bar with a marble fountain.

Each guestroom has custom cashmere blankets, bespoke cabinetry, marble bathrooms, curated mini-bars, and signature touches (like the "naughty light").

One of the room categories has a four poster bed and iconic golden bathtub.

The top floor has two "Rock Star" presidential suites where guests can "party like they're famous" with private cinemas, expansive ensuites with twin baths, his and hers shower room and the option to enjoy the whole floor if desired.

House of Gods has a menu of experiences which range from £59 Prosecco overnights to the ultimate £139 ‘Locked in Like I’m Famous’, where they will be able to enjoy an in-room Prosecco service, chocolates, balloons and rose petals on arrival, along with a £40 bar tab, exclusive pizza deliveries, midnight feasts, and breakfast the next day with Mimosas.

A rooftop "Garden of Eden" themed bar will have an all-day menu of light bites and sharing plates which can be enjoyed while gazing out at panoramic views of the city.

Downstairs will be a signature cocktail bar with a casual dining menu.

Mike Baxter, CEO of House of Gods, said he couldn't be more excited to open in Glasgow.

He added: "Creating the ultimate escape here has been our main priority.

"In addition to offering services like early check-in and late check-out as standard, we have worked alongside incredible artists and craftspeople to create a destination which celebrates true extravagance.

"From working alongside Siobhan Mackenzie who has designed our team’s uniforms to creating a custom toile de jouy wallpaper designed by Gregory Lewis, who has previously worked with a multitude of key fashion brands including Chanel, Fendi, and Christian Louboutin to name just a few, I can’t wait to welcome our first guests in just a few weeks."

Rooms will be priced from £119. Early access to room availability is by application at areyouonthelist.co.uk.
