Plans have been revealed for a Christmas tree switch-on in a Glasgow community.

Volunteers at Broomhouse Community Hall are preparing to welcome visitors to the festive event in the East End community on Saturday, December 2.

Guests can also enjoy festive treats including hot chocolate, mince pies and toasted marshmallows as well as teas and coffees - all costing £1 each.

The Christmas tree will be located at the grass section at the bottom of Baillieston Road where the switch-on will start at 5pm

Meanwhile, activities and refreshments will be held afterwards at Broomhouse Community Hall, 2 Baillieston Road, Glasgow, G71 7SB.

A spokesperson for the Community Hall said: "This event has been organised by volunteers of the Broomhouse Community Hall and Broomhouse Community Council.
