Aldi is set to open a brand new store near Glasgow this month.

The new shop on Tennent Street, Coatbridge, will replace the existing store on Weavers Road and will open on Thursday, November 30 at 8am.

Run by store manager Jamie McVicar, along with a team of 40 colleagues, the new store will offer customers 'high quality, low-price products', as well as fresh, Scottish meat products, weekly offers, exclusive beers, wines and spirits, and a ‘food to go’ section at the front of the store.

Aldi’s special buys will also be available in the middle aisle every Thursday and Sunday, offering a wide range of products, from electrical items to garden tools.

Aldi Store Manager Jamie McVicar said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Coatbridge. It’s set to be a special day.”

To celebrate the official partnership between Aldi and Paralympics GB, GB Paralympian silver and bronze medallist Scott Quinn will join the team to cut the all-important ribbon on opening morning.

Scott will also give away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s famous Super six range to the first 30 customers in the queue.

Scott said: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Paralympics GB.”

The new store will open from Monday to Saturday between 8am until 10pm and Sunday from 9am until 8pm.
