Update HERE 

A person was trapped in a car during a horror road smash in Glasgow. 

We previously reported that 999 crews had been called to a collision on Bearsden Road near Anniesland Cross at around 2.40pm on Tuesday.

The incident, which involved two vehicles, caused traffic chaos with a source saying: "There is a van and two cars, three ambulances, police have taped it off."

Fire crews were alerted to a casualty trapped inside one of the cars and they helped to free them. 

The person and two others were passed onto paramedics to receive care.

Glasgow Times:

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.43pm on Monday, December 4, to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision near the Shell Garage, Bearsden Road in Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene where upon arrival crews found one casualty trapped within a vehicle.

“Firefighters released the casualty from the vehicle and they, along with two other casualties, were transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service for precautionary checks.

“Crews left the scene at 3.45pm after ensuring the area was made safe."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.40pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, police were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash in the Bearsden Road area of Glasgow.

"Emergency services remain at the scene.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service was contacted for comment.
