The eagerly awaited Lush flagship will open on the Style Mile tomorrow morning as bosses share a glimpse of what to expect.

Senior anchor manager Magz Macphee-David, 33, says the new 20,000 sq ft Buchanan Street shop will cater to parent shoppers with youngsters and the wider community.

The store team has 20 parents who together have 35 kids ranging in age from one to 30.

Magz, a mum of two, said: “This is a space for everyone and we’ve tried to base a lot of that around our experience.

“For example, we have a lot of parents in the group – in the new store, we have a feeding room and a changing room.

“If you need a bottle warmed up and you’re in town, you can do it here.

“If your kid is having a tantrum, bring them in, there is a quiet space for that.

“We will grow and find out what other people in the community need as well.

“If there are people with hidden disabilities or something else, we can be a safe space for them when it gets a bit crazy outside.

“We want it to be a place for everyone, a real community space.”

Spread across three floors with a fourth-floor spa set to open in February next year, the new shop has been designed around creating room for customers and staff to engage with each other.

Compared to smaller outlets where queues are not uncommon, the anchor store will have places for people to sit even during peak times.

Inside the new store, designers have introduced bright splashes of colour, a huge disco ball and graffiti by local artist and restaurant owner Joshua Barr.

The building formerly housed the iconic Borders bookstore and Lush bosses have included easter eggs in the new shop for those who remember it.

Magz said: “When it was Borders it was a real meeting place on Buchanan Street.

“At the moment we’ve got books in our perfume area and Cabinets of Curiosity area but by March next year, we will have books in all sections.

“Mark Constantine, one of the Lush founders, loves books, poetry and nature so it’s great that we can bring in his love of books and hark back to the history of the building.”

The Cabinet of Curiosities is an aspect of the new shop that is sure to appeal to longtime Lush fans.

Magz said: "We have brought back a wall of discontinued items from over the years.

"People will be able to explore the cabinets and find old favourites from years gone by."

Other exciting concepts include a Lush florist pop-up with seasonal bouquets made using British flowers and greenery, a cafe and bakery run by West End favourite Plant Blonde and a Lush Shampoo Bar.

Lush will open on Buchanan Street on Friday, December 8 at 11am and the first 250 customers through the door will receive a surprise bag of goodies.
