A man stood beside the stage at a Bryan Ferry gig and pulled a camera tracker.

Paul Edwards, 59, blocked the view of the audience at Glasgow’s Hydro arena on October 10 2022.

Edwards, of Kilmarnock, Ayrshire - who has issues with his vision - refused to sit down and go back to his seat.

He went on to pull a camera tracker to the fear of security staff concerned with the safety audience members below it.

Edwards - a former vice chairman of Downs Syndrome Scotland - refused to leave the venue even after police arrival.

First offender Edwards pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to a single charge of breach of the peace.

The court heard that Edwards attended the gig and was in a seated section.

Prosecutor Ryan Diamond said: “He approached the stage to stand beside it.

“A member of security approached him to ask him to go back to his seat as he was blocking the view of other people as it was a seated event.”

Edwards told the member of staff to “F*** off” and that he “wasn’t moving.”

Mr Diamond said: “He failed to listen and took hold of a camera tracker that was on the stage.

“Edwards was asked to let it go as security were concerned it could fall off the stage and cause injury to other people nearby.”

Edwards went on to push two security officers and he was taken out of the main arena.

He again refused to leave and told security to “F*** off.”

Police attended who spoke to him at length but he continued to refuse to leave.

Edwards became abusive and called them “f***ing clowns” before stating “don’t give me f***ing instructions.”

Edwards was then arrested.

Bethan Jones, defending, told the court that her client has had problems with his vision for 10 years and walks with a white cane.

It was also stated that Edwards received knee injuries.

Sheriff Vincent Lunny admonished Edwards meaning he will not be punished for the matter.
