Drivers are set to be affected as parts of a busy motorway will close for over a month.

The M77 at Junction 1 will see essential central reserve VRS upgrades taking place from January 21 until February 29 between 8pm and 6am each night.

The work will be carried out using a combination of overnight lane closures in both the southbound and northbound carriageways and a full closure of the M77 northbound carriageway between M77 Junction 1 northbound off-slip and on-slip.

The work is set to benefit around 70,000 vehicles using the route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

A signed diversion will be as follows: Northbound Traffic will exit the M77 at Junction 1 northbound off-slip on to Dumbreck Road and re-join the M77 at Junction 1 northbound on-slip.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
