A community is outraged after bin bags of cannabis were dumped in a Glasgow cemetery.
Piles of leaves were stuffed into the bags and left on the public path and grass at Craigton cemetery over the weekend.
Images shared with the Glasgow Times show dozens of bags strewn across the path, and some of the bags appeared to have been burst open.
Some of it lay just several feet away from gravestones.
Piles of leaves and paraphernalia including a grow light can also be seen on the ground.
The shocking sight was discovered on Saturday by a resident and others have since taken to social media to voice their disgust.
One said: "That’s terrible how disrespectful."
Another wrote: "Bad enough dumping it, but doing it in a cemetery just beggars belief."
A third added: "My great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather are buried here, absolutely disgusted with this."
The incident was reported to Glasgow City Council's cleansing department, and the waste is since understood to have been removed from the cemetery.
A spokesperson for the council said: “A fly-tipping incident in Craigton Cemetery was reported to us and the waste was removed over the weekend.”
A spokesperson Police Scotland said: “Officers attended at Berryknowes Road on Monday, January 15, following a report made, however the bags had been uplifted.
“Further enquiries will be made into this report.”
