A popular Glasgow Rangers pub has paid tribute after the death of a 'dear friend' and beloved punter.

The team at the Bristol Bar on Duke Street informed their followers earlier this week that they had lost a 'one in a million' regular customer, Willie McCulley.

In a heartfelt message, staff paid tribute to 'legend' Willie.

"Sad sad news again for The Bristol Bar with the loss of our dear friend and one in a million. The main man, Bridgeton’s No. 1, our beloved Willie McCulley," they said.

"We are all devastated that one of The Bristol Bar's biggest-ever characters has passed away.

"Willie McCulley you were and always will be the main man, an absolute nutter, gentleman and all-round legend. He will be sorely missed.

"Gone but will never be forgotten. Rest easy big man."

Fellow punters shared their tributes to Willie, with one writing: "Legend."

A second said: "Another good man gone. RIP Willie. Condolences and thoughts are with the family and friends."

A third added: "What a character of a man, was full of fun and laughter, and loved his can of cider."
