Eastwood Park Theatre in Giffnock will host ABC frontman Martin Fry during an evening of stripped-back music and conversation.

An Intimate Evening With Martin Fry will be held on October 13 and will provide fans with the opportunity for a meet and greet at the venue.

The evening follows a successful tour for Mr Fry, which included sell-out nights at the London Palladium. This occasion coincides with the release of his autobiography.

Mr Fry said: "I have been very lucky in my career to have played venues around the world, from massive arenas in the States to Sheffield Town Hall in my hometown, where we marked 40 years of The Lexicon of Love.

"However, this tour really is something a bit different; an opportunity for stripped-back music and conversation with my fans.

"It will be really special, I can’t wait."

His transatlantic success with his band ABC includes hits such as Poison Arrow, The Look of Love, All of My Heart, Be Near Me, and When Smokey Sings.

Moira McFadden, head of communities and arts at East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: "We look forward to welcoming Martin Fry to Eastwood Park Theatre for an intimate evening, where he will reflect on his career and the music that retains the affection of listeners four decades on.

"We have a number of exciting events, performances and shows lined up with special guests this year.

"Leading social entrepreneur, Sunday Times best-selling author and homeless campaigner Josh Littlejohn MBE, who founded charities the Social Bite and the World's Big Sleep Out comes to the theatre to talk about his life and career in March.

"We also look forward to welcoming Rangers legends Mark Hateley, Mark Walters and Graham Roberts to the stage."

Other performances include former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon who will bring his spoken word show 'I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right' to the theatre in June.

Ms McFadden said they are also hosting an audience with Celtic legend Neil Lennon in October and will welcome Queen of the West End, Kerry Ellis, in November.
