A BUSY road in Glasgow city centre has reopened after emergency water works.

We previously reported that Stockwell Place in the city was forced to close yesterday (Thursday, February 1) due to the works.

It was supposed to be shut until Monday, February 5 while Scottish Water carried out urgent water main repairs in the area.

However, Glasgow City Council has confirmed the road has now reopened.

A spokesperson for the local authority said: "Stockwell Place is now fully open."
