A major road was blocked off due to an emergency incident last night.
Police Scotland tweeted that the A806 New Lairdsland Road in Kirkintilloch was closed on Saturday evening.
The force said at the time that this was due to a 'concern for a person'.
Reports on social media claimed there were multiple cop vehicles, fire engines and an ambulance near the canal, which the road runs over.
Another claimed police were standing guard at the Kirky Puffer pub in the town and redirecting people away from the scene.
Police issued an update later that night to reveal that the road had been reopened.
The nature of the incident is not yet known, but we have contacted Police Scotland for further comment.
