A man found wounded on a residential street in the East End was attacked, the force has revealed.

We previously reported that the 29-year-old was discovered on Collessie Drive around 7.35am on Friday, February 9.

He was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and his condition is unknown.

The force has revealed they believe he was seriously assaulted and detectives are continuing to hunt for answers.

Officers would not reveal any further details regarding the nature of the attack.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.35am on Friday, February 9, 2024 officers were called to a report of a serious assault on Collessie Drive, Glasgow.

"A 29-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
