Three people have been rushed to hospital following a smash on a major road in Glasgow.
The incident took place on Barrhead Road in the city's Southside on Sunday, February 18, at around 11.29pm.
We previously reported that Glasgow City Council said the road was closed between Crookston Road to the Pollok Roundabout while emergency crews dealt with the accident.
Now, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has revealed they sent two fire trucks to the scene where firefighters worked to make the area safe.
Following that, three people were taken to hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 11.29pm on Sunday, February 18, to reports of a road traffic collision in Glasgow.
"Operations control mobilised two fire appliances to the city's Barrhead Road, where firefighters worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.
"Three casualties were taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel."
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 11.35pm on Sunday, February 18, 2024 officers were called to a two-vehicle crash on Barrhead Road, Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and a 35-year-old man was taken to hospital. Two passengers from the same vehicle, a woman and child, were also taken to hospital as a precaution.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
