A woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow.

Officers say they were called to a crash between a pedestrian and a car on Battlefield Road in the city's Southside shortly after 8.30am on Wednesday, February 28.

We previously reported that Glasgow City Council said the road was forced to close due to the incident.

Following the accident, the woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers were called to Battlefield Road, Glasgow, at around 8.30am on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 following a crash involving a car and female pedestrian.

“The pedestrian was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 8.33pm to attend an incident on Battlefield Road, Glasgow.

"One ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.”
