A person has been rushed to hospital after an emergency incident on a busy street near Glasgow.

The incident took place on Kingsbridge Drive in Rutherglen on Tuesday, February 27, shortly after 12.30pm.

According to locals in the area, police and ambulance crews were spotted in the area during the situation.

Now, Police Scotland has revealed the incident was a 'medical matter'.

Meanwhile, the Scottish Ambulance Service said they sent two ambulances to the scene and a person was then taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 12.39pm on Tuesday, February 27, to attend an incident at Kingsbridge Drive, Rutherglen.

"Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.”
