A huge TV star was among the guests to attend the opening night of the Glasgow Film Festival.

Comedian and chat show host Graham Norton was pictured at the opening night for the event at the Glasgow Film Theatre on Wednesday, February 28.

On top of the popular television personality, other stars included Scots comic Janey Godley, Scottish TV presenter Jean Johansson, and Castlemilk actor Gary Lamont who appeared in the BBC's River City.

The film festival kicked off last night in the city with a UK premiere screening of Love Lies Bleeding.

It will run from Wednesday, February 28 until Sunday, March 10, at the Glasgow Film Theatre (GTF) on Rose Street.

The event, which was first started in 2005, is now considered one of the three biggest movie festivals in the UK.

Meanwhile, The GFT is an independent cinema and is a registered charity. It occupies a purpose-built cinema which first opened in 1939.
