Glasgow City Council has granted Dandara Living permission to develop apartments, residential amenity, student accommodation and commercial units in Anderston Quay.

City Wharf is set to house almost 500 one, two, and three-bedroom energy-efficient homes for rent and 490 student accommodations.

The site is currently derelict and overlooks the Kingston Bridge.

Rachel Allwood, planning director of Dandara Living, said: "We’re delighted City Wharf has been given the green light.

"It will play a key role in the significant transformation this part of the city is undergoing and help to bring more people into the area extending the vibrancy of the Clyde waterfront."

Manson have designed the project to include amenities such as a cycle hub, a large gym, residents' lounges, and co-working spaces with views onto the River Clyde.

As part of the ‘Build to Rent’ scheme, all properties are let rather than sold, offering residents long-term tenancies and communal facilities with a focus on building a healthy community.

The development will also feature a new urban park, open to the wider community, alongside private courtyards and recreational areas.

Extensive landscaping is planned throughout the development.

Founded in 2015, Dandara Living is a division of the Dandara Group.

The business currently provides close to 3,000 rental apartments through a portfolio of 17 sites and has more than 5,000 homes and student beds in the pipeline.

The company previously launched the Granary Quay at Glasgow Harbour, featuring 342 apartments and a number of resident amenities.
