A child has been taken to hospital after an incident in Glasgow.

Paramedics were called to Shettleston Road at around 5pm on Wednesday after receiving a call.

A response car and ambulance raced to the East End.

They took the child to the Royal Hospital for Children and their current status is unknown.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1659 hours to attend an incident on Shettleston Road in Glasgow.

"We dispatched a paramedic response car and an ambulance to the scene.

"We transported one child patient to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.”

Police Scotland was approached for comment. 

It comes after we reported that a man was found stabbed in the same area around an hour later.

The 41-year-old man was walking on Shettleston Road at around 6.30pm with serious injuries.

Seeking aid, they rushed over to First Glasgow's number 60 service which was stationary on the road.

999 crews were called and the victim was rushed to hospital.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 6.20pm on Wednesday to attend an incident on Shettleston Road.

"We dispatched two ambulances, a critical care paramedic and our trauma team to the scene. We transported one male patient in his 40s to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a disturbance on Shettleston Road, Glasgow, around 6.20pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

"Emergency services attended and a 41-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
