Cops raced to a busy Glasgow train station after a 'weapon' was discovered.

The British Transport Police (BTP) said they were called to Carmyle railway station in the city's East End on Saturday, March 16, shortly after 1pm.

Officers were made aware of reports that a weapon had been found.

Police say a bladed item was then recovered from the station.

A spokesperson for BTP said: “Officers were called to Carmyle railway station just after 1.30pm on March 16, to reports that a weapon had been found.

"Officers attended and a bladed item was recovered.”
