Two people have been rushed to hospital following an emergency incident near Glasgow.
Officers say they were called to a two-vehicle smash on Glasgow Road in East Kilbride shortly after 5pm on Thursday, March 21.
During the incident, residents on social media reported the road was closed.
Following this, two people were taken to hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 5.16pm on Thursday, March 21, to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Glasgow Road, East Kilbride.
“Operations control mobilised two appliances to the scene, and two casualties were passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Around 5.10pm on Thursday, March 21, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving two vehicles on Glasgow Road, East Kilbride.
"Two people were taken to hospital for treatment."
