A Glasgow city centre road will not reopen after roadworks due to 'difficulties'.

West George Street was closed between Hope Street and Renfield Street from 8am on Sunday, March 24.

The area was scheduled to reopen at 6am on Monday, March 25 but the council's road department has revealed it will not.

This is due to 'technical difficulties' and they will advise in due course when they expect the road to reopen.

A diversion is in place via West Regent Street.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
