A two-week Easter event in Glasgow has been cancelled just days before it was scheduled to take place.

Inflatable Fun City was due to arrive at Victoria Park for the school holidays on Friday, March 29 until April 14.

The event promised visitors a range of inflatable adventures including a brand-new Amazon rainforest-inspired course.

Unfortunately, due to ground conditions from rainy weather, organisers have cancelled the event.

They say they hope to return in the summer, weather permitting.

Staff made the devastating announcement on Monday, March 25 after months of planning

A spokesperson said: "Cancellation of event due to ground conditions we the family of Inflatable Fun City can only apologise for this but the ground is just too boggy.

"We will try and make it back in the summer time that's if it stops raining so please will you share this post and let the people know to say we are disappointed is an understatement, four months of planning and thousands of pounds already spent.

"Thanks again for everybody who supported us, all the people who entered the competition we will still recognise all of you on the next event so please share this and thanks again from the Inflatable Fun City."

Guests shared their sadness at the gutting news, with one saying: "Such a shame that this keeps happening due to the ground conditions."

A second wrote: "Gutted for you, hope the sun comes through for summer time."
