A man has been brutally attacked in broad daylight on a busy street near Glasgow.

The incident took place on Burnhill Street in Rutherglen on Tuesday, March 26, shortly before 5pm.

999 crews rushed to the incident.

A 32-year-old man was then taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment following the shocking assault.

Now, officers are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.

Detective Constable Stuart Adams, Cambuslang CID, said: "Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we are appealing for the help of the public.

“I’d appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to come forward. Likewise, if you have dashcam or private CCTV that could assist, please contact police to bring this to our attention."
