More acts have today been announced for a brand-new music festival coming to Glasgow this year.

We previously reported that the Glasgow Weekender, which will be headlined and curated by Belle and Sebastian, will be held in various spaces of SWG3 in the city's West End.

Running from August 2 to August 3, the festival will be a new take on the old classic, The Bowlie Weekender, where Belle and Sebastian curated a music festival at Pontin’s Holiday park in Sussex back in 1999.

Alongside the iconic Scottish hitmakers, the first artists to be announced where The Joy Hotel, Camera Obscura, CMAT, and Bis.

Now, acts like Butcher Boy’s, Walt Disco, Tenementals, The Vaselines, Drug Store Romeos’, Callum Easter, and Monica Queen have been added to the bill.

Music lovers will also be able to bring along little ones as the Kiddy Disco, hosted by DJ Suzy Lee Kidd, has to been announced.

Stuart Murdoch, singer of Belle and Sebastian said: “Belle and Sebastian have many shows this year, but wherever we go, we know that Glasgow will be calling us back for the start of August. That’s the one we will anticipate the most, our own little fiesta beside the Clyde.

“We are delighted that old friends The Vaselines, Butcher Boy, Monica Queen, The Tenementals and The Parsonage have been added to the bill, and we’re looking forward to hosting Callum Easter, Walt Disco, Mary In The Junkyard and the Drug Store Romeos. And you, see you there.”

Day tickets for the event will go on sale tomorrow, Friday 5, at 10am.
