A WORKER attacked a man after his manager told him to perform a task 15 minutes before he finished for the day.

Glynn Strudwick, 59, was at Caledonia House, Hillington, on January 26 last year.

Around 4.45pm, he was approached by his manager and asked to move his belongings.

The court heard he refused regarding timing as he finished at 5pm.

He said: “Yous are just c**ts."

He was spoken to by his manager and told to do his work.

Strudwick then kicked off and attacked a man who was in the room.

The man's head was against the wall as Strudwick clenched his fist.

He held his hand up and said: “Let’s do this, fat boy.”

The man kept trying to push him away and get out but Strudwick punched him in the face several times.

The man tried to restrain his attacker when other people entered and managed to get in between them.

Strudwick was told to go outside.

He said: “My hand is broken, you know I am very hot-headed."

He was told he was suspended and he should go to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the man's nose was broken and he was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Police were called and Strudwick was cautioned and charged.

The court heard the man's nose could not be put together by doctors and he has to get an appointment for a more complex operation.

Strudwick appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week, after pleading guilty to the assault.

His lawyer said at the hearing: "There was a lot of friction going on there.

“He felt that he was treated in a different way. He was dealing with his wife’s health issues.

“If they knew about it, they weren’t very supportive.

“He lost his job after this but he got another one.

“He is not struggling financially but there are financial issues.”

Sheriff Allan McKay said: "This was an unfortunate set of circumstances. This is not an appropriate way to deal with work issues."

Strudwick was ordered to pay £500 in compensation and fined a further £500.
