The new owner of one of Glasgow's oldest pubs which is set to reopen has been revealed.

Christie & Co has announced they have successfully secured a new tenant for the Strathduie Bar.

It comes after we reported that the venue - which is located on Blackfriars Street in the Merchant City - is set to reopen this spring after being sold.

The firm says the lease for the bar has been acquired by Fraser McIlwraith, who with his team, plans to reopen the pub and revitalise the pub with a modern, fresh approach while still keeping its traditional feel.

The bar is known for having a rich history dating back to 1893.

Fraser said: “We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to Strathduie Bar. Our team have worked tirelessly to create a space that honours the history of the venue, while also embracing the excitement of right now.”
