New benches have been unveiled in a Southside park.
Friends of Richmond Park welcomed the installation of the four new benches following a £10,500 donation from housebuilder Avant Homes
The volunteer community group was founded over 50 years ago and has been continually dedicated to the conservation and protection of Richmond Park.
This goal coincides with Avant Homes’ commitment to enhance and support the communities they build in, and this donation is part of their ongoing partnership with the group.
Iain Allison, Avant Homes Scotland special project director, said: “As a housebuilder, we are dedicated to creating long-lasting sustainable communities.
“Working together with Friends of Richmond Park to provide these benches is a great example of us putting that commitment into practice.”
The colourful new benches have been placed around the perimeter of the Glasgow Richmond Model Boat Club Pond at regular intervals so people with disabilities and mobility challenges can take a break when needed.
Over the last decade, Avant Homes Scotland has built over 1000 practical, energy-efficient apartments at the Richmond Gate development in Oatlands, a mile away from Richmond Park.
Mr Allison added: “We have taken a great deal of satisfaction in making this donation knowing it will provide visitors to the park with a space to sit and enjoy the natural surroundings.”
